Michael Sadowsky

MSW, LICSW, MAHS
Therapist

Michael is a clinical social worker with an integrative and holistic approach to psychotherapy. His practice is rooted in mindfulness, CBT and DBT approaches, EMDR, Internal Family Systems, and contemporary Psychodynamic therapy. His work also draws from the mind-body connection, spirituality, social/cultural influences, neuroscience, and compassion.

In addition to mental health work, Michael has long had an interest in complementary and alternative medicine, meditation, and cross-cultural healing practices. Nearly every culture has accessed non-ordinary state of consciousness throughout history, and these states have been used for deep healing, gaining important insights and wisdom, eliminating blocks to living well, connecting with something larger than oneself, and opening the door for positive change and growth. Safely accessing these states may provide hope and change to individuals who have hit a wall in life, or have struggled to find help with traditional psychotherapy and psychiatry. Michael believes that Psychedelic-Assisted Psychotherapy fits into the paradigm of holistic healing, and he is excited to be a part of making this powerful therapy more available to clients in the safety and effectiveness of a clinical setting.

Michael has a Master’s degree in Social Work and a Master’s degree in Holistic Health Studies, as well as a Bachelor's degree in English. He has advanced training in trauma and grief work, has completed the MAPS MDMA Therapy Training program (Parts A-D), and was trained in Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy by Polaris Insight Center. Issues that Michael commonly works with include: grief, loss, gender identity, sexual identity, depression, anxiety, trauma, transitions, relationships, spirituality, stress reduction, and resilience.

Michael brings a warm and non-judgmental presence to his work. He emphasizes safety, attunement, humor, and enjoys being a helper and companion to others as they discover and grow in their own strength and wisdom. He has deep gratitude for this work, and for the privilege of being an ally to others on their path to healing.
